ok so for my summer reading packet for school i have to read the odyssey. and i accidentally got the wrong translation than the rest of my class. i was wondering if anyone knows where i can find a 20-25 lined excerpt from book xi(the gathering of shades) from the robert fitzgerald translation or if anyone wouldn't mind typing up their favorite section in this section.

oh if u cant find this specific poem its fine if u give another section that is full of imagery and beautiful word usage

  1. You can browse some of the book here:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/03742243...

Click "excerpt" on the bottom left and then browse using the arrows to the right and left of the book. I know it's inconvenient since you can't copy-paste it, but it's better than nothing, right?

  2. You could always go to the library and look it up without checking the book out...they cant tackle you for late fines just for walking in the door :)

On that same note you could go to a book store and look up the section  you need and copy it into a notebook. You wont have to buy the book again and you can get what you need from the proper translation.

I dont have the book myself so i cant help you out other than to offer these suggestions.
