Does it bother you when people confuse Metamorphoses with The Metamorphosis? Or Invisible Man with The Invisible Man?

When I see somebody way that Metamorphoses is by Kafka, I get so irritated. Does this bother anyone else?

  1. Not really. People are doomed to do mistakes. You can always correct them.

  2. What? They're not the same?! =D

  3. Sometimes.

I mean, they talk about stuff that they don't know about. They confuse stuff with something else. It gets a little irritating but that's life. You can't change it!

Besides, I have a great time correcting them.

Me, answering this question, am NOT a Literature Nerd. I mean- Me? And a Literature Nerd. I don't know the first thing about literature. This book is the first and the only book that I will read in that genre. I get a B in English, for gods sake.

(Sorry! Totally strayed off the question there! :) )

  4. No, that doesn't bother me. Does that happen to you often?

I don't even get bothered when people say "A Portrait of Dorian Gray" instead of "The Picture of Dorian Gray" it's a legitimate mistake and as long as it is clear what they are talking about it's not worth correcting.

What does bother me is when people misquote classic literature or when they try to sound sophisticated by using a big word but misuse it. That's not really related to your question though :p

  5. Most people I know don't often do that :)

  6. No.  You should open the door and walk into what we call "The Outdoors".  Take several deep breaths.  Watch the squirrels frolicking.

  7. I hate it when people ask for recommendations of good classic literature, "like Harry Potter." I know the series is beloved across the world, but that doesn't make it a classic!
