Next year (I know it seems far away, but I love being prepared for theatre) my school is preforming Urinetown. I don't want that big of a part, so I'm looking to try for Little Becky Two Shoes. I'm an alto with a strong but not astoundingly beautiful voice. I can act and pull off her character well, but I'm having trouble finding a monologue or a song. Does anybody know of any that would be good?

Also, have any of you ever tried out for the role? What happened?

  1. try singing one of Lucy or Sally's songs from you're a good man charlie brown (my new philosophy is a good choice) or something from the putnam county spelling bee would be cute too.

never tried for the part, but best of luck to you

  2. what she said, the spelling bee and you're a good man charlie brown are both good places to start. you may even want to look at some selections from annie, oliver, or seussical the musical. as far as monologues go, try getting a book from the library of monologues for young actors, there will be plenty of stuff in there for you to pick through.
