Little Gent to steer the Bookmakers Maiden Standard Trophy his way at Nottingham
Nottingham will host the Stadium Bookmakers Maiden Standard Trophy over 500 metres flat on Monday, 4th June. The line-up comprises of Lacken Heights, Small Tractor, Delonte, Little Gent, Mays Westmead and James First. The prize money set for the winner is £150.
Leading the line-up is Little Gent, Shaneboy Lee’s two-year-old white and brindle son out of b***h, Patterdale Chloe. His seasonal debut was in a 264 metres race at Monmore on 10th January.
He settled as the runner behind the winner, Junes Deezy, who went through the wire in 15.52 seconds and led by 2 ¼ lengths.
The career success of the two-year-old was in a 264 metres race at Monmore on 24th January. He reached the other end of the wire in 15.54 seconds. This time the positions switched as Junes Deezy ended as the runner up after leaping over the gap of a slight short head’s difference.
On 31st January, he won a 470 metres race by completing the trip in 28.29 seconds and leading the runner up of the race, Kerrydale Jinky, by five lengths.
All his chances of striking a hat trick vanished when he finished third in the Ladbrokes.Com 480 Puppies on 11th February at Monmore. The race was won by Farloe Spitfire in 28.86 seconds while the evening’s favourite, Rooneys Lad, settled second.
He then suffered a fifth position in his next race and then posted the third success of the season on 25th February at Monmore over 480 metres.
Little Gent was done racing in 28.58 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Little Reminder, by one and a half lengths.
His second position in the next race led him to get drilled twice at Monmore over 264 metres. On 8th May he took 15.67 seconds and on 15th May he settled the track distance in 15.74 seconds.
He then won the 480 metres race on 22nd May at Monmore by making it to the other end of the wire in 28.70 seconds. He took charge of the final eight lengths and had Bower Hawk finishing the closest.
His very recent race found him finishing second. He is very lightly raced ever since the two training sessions and has the potential to win the race tonight.
