Little Josh gets the best odds for John Smith´s Topham Chase Handicap (Grade 3)
Little Josh has won the best odds for the John Smith´s Topham Chase Handicap (Grade 3) at Aintree in England on Friday, April 13, 2012. The winner of the class-1 event will be awarded a cash prize of £56,270.
The going will be good to soft in the 2 mile, 5 furlong and 110 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 15:40 GMT, and a total of 26 entries have been confirmed for it.
Following are the names of the runners lined up for action: Triangular, Always Waining, Frankie Figg, Little Josh, Apt Approach, Chance Du Roy, Fabalu, Fistral Beach, Gonebeyondrecall, Giorgio Quercus, Tartak, Aimigayle, Douglas Julian, Matuhi, Montoya´s
Son, Nikola, Paradis De Thaix, Bai Zhu, Arklow Ger, Rio Gael, Massini Sunset, Minella Theatre, Moon Over Miami, Sunday City, Herecomesthetruth and Wake Board.
Out of the above mentioned runners, Little Josh has managed to win the confidence of the bookies because of his decent performances in chase races. The punters might also place a lot of bets in his favour, as he is in great shape right now.
The 10-year-old gelding has participated in 13 chase events, winning four of them. In addition to that, he has also secured a runner up position once, which shows that he is a fierce competitor.
However, the Nigel Twiston-Davies’ trainee has not been able to deliver solid results over the past few months. He ended up 10th in his most recent outing, thus it will be hard for him to regain momentum at Aintree today.
Little Josh will be partnered by Sam Twiston-Davies, who is a pretty competitive rider, but needs to improve his overall strike rate. He has enjoyed quite a lot of success in chase races, winning 67 of them until now.
On the other hand, it will be a clever idea to place bets in favour of Triangular, who has been performing well in recent times. He was victorious in his most recent outing, thus will be carrying terrific rhythm right now.
Overall, the Tom George’s trainee has entered 13 chase races, winning three of them and finishing runner up on the same number of times.
Moreover, Always Waining, Frankie Figg, Apt Approach, Chance Du Roy, Fabalu, Fistral Beach, Gonebeyondrecall and Giorgio Quercus will also be in contention of victory at Aintree today.
