My son is 2.5 going on 3 in August. He is Autistic and I am wondering if anyone who has an autistic child, would he use this? He is non-verbal high functioning? I don't want to shell out the $$ if its just going to sit in the garage. He has a Razor type scooter and does well on scoot toys. He can't ride his tricycle yet only because I think it requires too much leg strength and he has very skinny legs. Any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks!

  1. It's hard to tell uless you try it-some chidlren will like others-others will be freaked out-soem just won't care..

try to finds someone that has one and ask if your child can try it.....

  2. Does he have one of those little tikes foot power cars?  My daughter loved the power car, but not until she was older.  You might want to take him to the toy store and let him try one out if possible. That would be the best way to gauge how he'd like it.

  3. My son also had trouble with a tricycle when he was younger but it was due to the motor coordination that it took.  Does you son receive occupational therapy?  If not, I would look into it.  In our state it is free for children on the spectrum.  It has helped my son a lot with strength and coordination.  You can check at your local regional center or school district.
