  1. I'm wondering the same thing. I play with my baby alot.. but I need to do housework also. And, he freaks out because he wants me to play with him. One thing He likes is, those toys that hang over them when they lay on their back. He likes grabbing for the toys. I wish I had more suggestions... I know, its hard!

  2. read books

    sing songs

put some pudding or apple sauce on a tray and let her squish it around (like finger painting but if she puts it in her mouth it doesn't matter)

    go for a walk

    baby massage

    peek a boo

arrange a play date with someone who has a child of similar age

    sit outside in the grass

have her look in a mirror

get a small blow up pool and put warm water in it and hold her sitting up in it and play with some bath toys, or you can do this in the bath tub too

blow bubbles for her but don't let her have them

  3. it's never too early to read to a child.

I have read to all of mine from less than one month.

At that age, the best way to entertain a baby is pop her in a sling facing out and let her look at the world.

You will most likely find yourself naturally talking to her, singing to her, etc. once she's in there :)

  4. My 41/2 month old plays a lot with my fingers, hair and her toes. we read, dance, and sing. we play airplane and play on her exersize mat with all her stuffed animals. i make up stories with her name in it and the items in the room. i repeat her noises to her. you can put on a hat and take off a hat. go under the sheets and over the sheets. Peek a boo. she also likes to play with balls. move them around, l**k them and lay on top of them. of course with my help. i hope these games help. also check out parentingweekly.com. they have games for all ages listed on their site.

  5. It is never to early to start reading to her. You could go for walks and you can name the thing you see in the neighborhood. Finger puppets (or big ones too) can fascinate. Sing. Peek-A-Boo...
