Question:

Little black insects?

I live on the West Norfolk/Cambridge borders. Every year at this time we are plagued by miniscule black (flying) insects. They can get in anywhere even into photograph frames which is annoying. They are SO tiny they get in your hair - I've just thoroughly combed my hair and I've got about 10 out, it makes you feel as though you have fleas but they are a lot smaller than fleas - does anyone know what these are?

  1. These are midges.

  2. Not too far from you and yes ,I've got millions.Especially if your wearing white,in the garden for seconds and they are all over my blouse, not much you can do and I'm a Londoner living in East Anglia,I still prefer the insects only once a year than moving back to London

  3. There are 2 types, one slightly bigger than the other.

They are stirred up from the crops during harvest.

    Not even citronella stops them!

  4. They are thunderbugs they are attracted by heat normally! I actually have 2 on my monitor right now :-)

It's amazing how tickly they are on your skin considering how small they are. :-)
