This morning I noticed a little clear creature in my fish tank. Yesterday I bought to small gold fish, one fantail & the other orandas. It looked like the little thing was trying to get out of the tank. After I noticed the clear creature, my sister noticed a brown one hanging on the tail of fantail goldfish. They almost look like tiny baby shrimp but alittle different. I just want to know are they going to be harmful to my fish and if so how do I get ride of them? Any information on what these things are?

  1. Either it is a type of parasite, worms, or baby shrimp. You can get anti parasitic meds like jungle clear tabs, or general cure makes some, or if it is shrimp, you can either keep them, they might benefit your tank. Or remove them with a net, or put copper into your tank. If it is just shrimp, they will not harm your fish, but if it's a worm or parasite, you will need to treat the tank asap, since they will harm your fish.

  2. Since you say you saw it attached to the fin and the fish in question is goldfish, my guess would be anchorworm.
