  1. they are probably scars sometimes they will get cuts you wont notice and thy scare a lot.

  2. they might be bug bites - our tb gets lots of scabby little lumps all over his side which are bug bites.

point about mud fever - they can get it all the way up their legs and on their belies in bad cases. It's the same thing as cause rain scald I believe.

  3. its probably Muck-itch apply betadine it should clear up!

  4. There are 2 possible issues!

    Rain rot- Apply betadine

    Fly bits- Apply swat

    Hope this helped!!

  5. they are probably chestnuts, all horses have them, they look like scabs, but they arnt, you should be able to peel them off, they will most likely be on the inside of your horses hocks and knees, if they dont want to peel off dry, then hose them off with water, and soke them then peel them

  6. One of our paints has that on his legs, too. We're not really sure what they are, but we scrub them every day with a jelly scrubber and shampoo to loosen them up. Then we put vaseline on top so that the flies can't get to the area to bite, and spray some fly spray on top of that, too.

  7. Could also be where flies have bitten him.

  8. it could be a number of things its hard to say without a picture...put some swat oinment on them and if you feel the need call the vet but i dont think that will be necessary

  9. My horse had those too. Those little scabs are called "scratches", and they are deffinately treatable.  Go to your local tack shop and buy a scratches spray, if you dont know what youre looking for then ask someone and they will guide you to it.

Spray it onto the scabs atleast once a day and massage it in. Eventually the scratches will peel off, and - no more scabs!

  10. If they are scabs and not scars then they are most likely insect bites, I know where i live the horse flies are worse than I have ever seen them
