  1. she may not be ready to leave the booster yet. How old is she?

  2. they have little covers for seat belts, it could be digging into her, you should try to get one of them. If she still refuses to wear it, Tell her she'll have to use a booster seat until she will wear the seat belt like big girls do.

  3. First let me say that putting the seatbelt behind a child is illegal in some places -  the seatbelt must be worn properly to be legal and safe.  There are some seatbelt covers that can adjust and cover so that it is more comfortable to wear but the most important thing is for your sister to know that the car will not move if she is not in her seatbelt.  The second she removes her seatbelt the car needs to be pulled over.

  4. What ever you do, do not put the seat belt strap that goes over the shoulder behind her.  My son hates the shoulder strap that goes over him, so he just puts it behind his back, given that there is the lap belt.  We had a wreck 2 days ago, since the strap was behind his back, it did not lock him in place.  He bounced forward and hit the back of the front seat.  He cannot open his left eye at the moment, very tramatic experience.  In texas it is illegal to for the kids to not have the shoulder strap on, needless to say, I got a ticket for it.  I am researching now on ways to keep it on him right, lol!  Hope this helps.  Check this website out http://www.buckleboss.com/

  5. My youngest son is doing that has well. I tell him if he doesn't wear his seat belt or doesn't wear it the right way. He still in booster but able to wear the regular selt belt. I told him that I would put him back in his carseat. He doesn't like the idea. He isn't taking his seat belt off now. Tell her the why we wear seat belts.

  6. put the long part of the strap that goes over her shoulder behind her i do that with my little sister and the good part is it isnt illegal

  7. Then she's not big enough to be out of a booster--put her back in it. Is she 8 yrs old AND 80 lbs? If not, she still belongs in the booster!

  8. There are seat belt adjusters you can buy, to make seat belts fit so they don't hurt your neck, but are still affective.  In the mean time, your MOM needs to tell her she MUST keep it on, to keep her safe when all of you are riding in the car.

She needs to listen, and keep it on, but your Mom is the one to be firm about it.

It's a big change from riding in her car seat, but not wearing the seatbelt is not an option.

I am proud of you for being so responsible, and taking the wearing of a seatbelt seriously, and for being so concerned that your little sister keeps hers on, too.  = )

  9. Your mother needs to pull off to the side of the road and put the seat belt back on herself.

I have a rule.  My car stops when a seatbelt comes off and it doesn't move until everyone is buckled up.
