Little truck only starts if lights turn on first.?

Now, though, it won't start at all. It's my friend's, and I'm borrowing it. I'd like to fix it if I can. Any ideas? Previously, it would start if she turned the brights on first.

check your battery connection and the grounds

first step check all fuses  if its an older chevy check radio installation also if aftermarket

Sounds like an electrical problem, never heard of turning the bright light on to start a truck, also check all of the fuses and battery and starter, good luck.

The truck could have a alarm on it ora kill switch . Iv'e seen them where you have to pull the light switch out & back in before it would start.Iv'e even seen it where you have to pull back on the bright light switch . If it's a automatric you may need to put it in neutrel (N) to start it.I guess i'm thinking someone put a alarm or kill switch on it. If you could find the fuse and unhook it then you wouldn't have to worry with it anymore.By the way these alarms & kill switches are usually under the dash bt the steering wheel.
