Question:

Little white fuzzy flying bugs? What are they?

I have just been noticing this year that there is some new bug in my are that I have never seen before. It's very little, like the size of a sewing needle head and they are all while and fluzzy, kinda reminds me of cotton. They fly around and if you let one land on your hand you can see the head and legs of it.

Does anyone know that these are? If you do let me know and if you have a picture add it so I can make sure. I don't think they are harmful I'm just real curious as to what they are.

I live in the southeastern part of ohio

  1. They are probably wooly aphids (family: Eriosomatidae). There are several different species but if you do a google image search for wooly aphids I'm sure you'll find the ones you're looking for.
