LittleBigPlanet 2 meets Toy Story, Plenty of Buzz but no Woody
LittleBigPlanet and Toy Story have the makings of a match made in heaven and why no one thought of it any sooner is something to ponder deeply about.
Luckily for the gaming public, developers and publishers are not just talented video game ‘makers’, but also very good at brainstorming, either that or they have a world-class marketing team. As Media Molecule plan on giving everyone something they never
knew they wanted, a Toy Story DLC for LittleBigPlanet 2.
Making their way in costume form onto the Play, Create, Share genre of platform gaming, in costume form, are Buzz Lightyear, the green dinosaur Rex, Slinky the dog and Hamm, the piggy bank. While Sack Boy was cute enough on his own and the Toy Story characters
not too bad by themselves, imagining a Buzz Lightyear Sack Boy is something that will have grown men smiling. You know who you are.
However, there are doubts as to whether Jessie and Woody, the cowboy and cowgirl respectively, will be included in the DLC or in a future DLC, though the latter looks highly unlikely.
The costume pack is part of two DLC packs, one with the aforementioned costumes and the second is a level pack.
The latter comes bundled with a host of features including those pointless yet somehow awesome stickers the game has become known for, a musical track, a few objects players can use in their level designs as well as a few premade levels as well.
The news is welcome for many fans of both the Toy Story series as well as the LittleBigPlanet ones, as Media Molecule, the developers behind LBP, recently announced they were going to leave the series to work on other projects.
Very few could say anything to stop them, seeing how the game is virtually self-sufficient when it comes to content, with over a million user-created levels already available for download. Yet, one cannot help but smile when they think that the developers
decided to help bring out the kid in all of us with this, one of their, parting gifts.
The costume pack will set gamers back a grand total of just under $8, with each individual costume costing just under $2 each ($1.99 for those who fall prey to the psychological marketing tactics).
The level pack is slightly cheaper, even though it has more features and goodies than the costume pack, and will be priced at $6 ($5.99).
All in all it will cost a total of $14 if players want the lot and gamers can expect to have a Buzz c*m Sack Boy slapping people around when the DLC hits the PlayStation Network on the 3rd of August.
