Liu Chuang, Li Yan, Yu Delu and Liang Wenbo surge into qualifiers Round 4: 2012 China Open
With a successful run from the very start, four Chinese potters, Liu Chuang, Li Yan, Yu Delu and Liang Wenbo have made their way into the fourth round showing consistent performance throughout the qualifying session.
Their performance in the fourth round of 2012 China Open qualifiers will determine their availability in the event.
Qualifiers of the 2012 China Open are underway at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield. The qualifying session has reached the fourth round where the ultimate battle will start for the initial round spot of the 2012 China Open. The event will commence
from March 26 at the University Student Gymnasium in Beijing and will feature all top guns of snooker under one ceiling.
China’s Yu Delu began his qualifier campaign from the very first round of 2012 China Open qualifiers. He faced Kacper Filipiak in the first round qualifying clash and defeated him with a whitewash score line of 5-0.
His next opponent in the second round was England’s Mark Joyce who was defeated at his hands by 5-2. The Chinese potter had an easy match against Scotland’s Jamie Burnett in the third round and ousted him 5-1 to set up the veteran Stephen Hendry clash in
Round 4.
Liu Chong was placed in the second round of the qualifiers and faced the 2011 Q School qualifier, England’s Andrew Norman in his first match. The match-up was an easy victory for the Chinese as he defeated Norman by the score 5-2 to make his way into the
third round where he beat Robert Milkins with the same score line 5-2. He is now up against the 2012 Snooker Shootout winner, England’s Barry Hawkins in Round 4.
Another Chinese, Li Yan was also placed in the second round qualifiers. He had a close first round match against Ian McCulloch but eventually managed to claim the decider frame to beat McCulloch by 5-4. Yan had another tussling encounter in the third round
against the Englishman, Mike Dunn. Both potters played their best and dragged the match into a deciding frame where Yan was triumphant.
He will meet Ireland’s Fergal O’Brien in his fourth round qualifying match. All these four Chinese potters have got an opportunity to show their talent to the world.
