Sri Lankan skipper Tillakaratne Dilshan departed early by playing a knock of 28 runs in the only T20 match against Pakistan on Friday, November 25, 2011 at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE).
The Lankan skipper was caught by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saeed-Ajmal-c87859 in the 6th over of the game. At the time of his departure, the Lankans had posted 61 runs on the board for the loss of two wickets.
The hard-hitting Dilshan smacked four boundaries in his short innings and once again failed to clobber an emphatic knock. The batsman showed little colour throughout the series against Pakistan in the Arabian Peninsula.
Earlier, after winning the toss, the Sri Lankans asked Pakistan to field first as Pakistan have never been regarded as a strong chasing side and batting first in the match was a good move by the Sri Lankans.
However, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 bowlers were up to speed and knew exactly what to do against the Sri Lankans as the Men in Green needed to grab wickets early on to subdue their opponents.
From Pakistan, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/WU-Tharanga-c2802, who departed after smashing a knock of 12 runs.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, on the other hand, were left utterly disappointed by the performance of their out of form captain as the Abu Dhabi track is considered batsmen friendly by all means and for Dilshan to bat on such a pitch should have been a joyride.
Meanwhile, Pakistan who grabbed the fifth place in One Day International (ODI) cricket after winning the five-match series against the Sri Lankans were in high esteem before the T20 match as they aimed to stretch their winning streak.
