  1. well i would say with efc of 0 you are going to get all the help they have to give you.

you don't say what state, some state offer state asst for people who are going back to school and working.

  2. With an EFC of 0 you will get a full Pell grant of 4,731 a year (half in the fall and half in the spring) as already stated.  You will also likely qualify for a Subsidized Stafford loan in the amount of 3,500 (half in the fall and half in the spring) a year as well.  Maybe FSEOG and a state grant depending on how early you did your FAFSA.  If these are enough really depends on the cost of your school.  If you enroll at an in-state community college (some cost only $3,000 a year) you should be able to at least not starve!

The cell phone is a luxury you can't afford.  Throw it away.

Living alone is a luxury... find another way.  Either get rid of the apartment and move in with someone else or find a roommate, or two, or three.

    Good luck.

  3. Well first of all congrats to going to college! It's hard, but totally worth it. Secondly, you should be able to get assistance, if not for rent then for other things, like utilities (but not your cell phone). You may be able to qualify for section 8, which if you get it, is golden. You'll only have to pay a portion of rent based on income. That's the best way to get help paying your rent. Problem is it's really hard to come by or really easy depending on where you live. More good news, your EFC of 0 means you'll probably get the full Pell Grant, which is 4731 a year, and you'll prolli get the Supplementary Equal Opportunity Grant which can be up to 4000 dollars a year ( I have an EFC of 0 and got both of these, for community college and at my four year) Depending on what college you may go to that may cover the whole thing and some. If your grant is more than college, you'll get a refund, which you can use however you want (hint hint rent). Hope this helps
