hi there, we are europeans, we want to live in cuba, mainly invest in fishing boats, someone answered that there are no gas to buy and no one to buy fish, is this true? is cuba so bad like that? how do the cubans work then?

  1. Why choose Cuba if (as it sounds) you have never visited here.

    I live in Cuba. The comments about gas and no one to buy are wrong. There is gas, and there are people to buy things.

    However. like many countries, Cuba does not permit foreigners to simply come to Cuba and work. You need a work permit to legally live and work here. And I am not sure they would allow that for your proposal. Perhaps some of the other Caribbean islands would be easier ?

    Further, there are rules about who fishermen should sell to. Many Cubans ignore those and sell in the black market. It would not be advisable for a foreigner to do that.

    But come here for a visit - to see what Cuba is really like.

    [By the way - last month, Cuba allowed Cubans to buy mobile telephone lines for themselves. It was reported that 7,400 bought lines in the first two weeks.]


  2. Cuba is still a communist country.

    You are best to do some research because you just cant move there and do anything like that and you can not buy a house.
