Live leader board; The Australian PGA Championship-Day 2
The second round of the Australian PGA Championship is in progress at the Hyatt Regency Coolum in Australia. Bobby Gate is currently in the lead with a score of 69, which was hampered by four bogeys.
One stroke behind is the duo of Liang Wenchong and John Sendon. The veteran who hails from China smashed a round of 68, whereas the Aussie settled with a 65. Unlike Wenchong, Sendon improved his scores and managed a superb round with 177.78% Green Hits in
Regulation. He teed off from the back with a slow pace and helped himself to two birdies, so as to compile a score of two-under-par.
But on his way to the first green Sendon became a new man. The veteran fired three back-to-back birdies on the opening holes and plunged three positions on the leader board. With a gap of a green, the Aussie carved one more birdie and wrapped the second
round with a score of 65.
Aaron Townsend followed in the footsteps of his compatriot and jumped two spots up the leader board by carding a 67 on the second day. He is chased by a group of four players, which includes Peter Fowler. The 51-year-old could not match his score from earlier
in the day and surrendered at 70. The veteran drilled three birdies in the front, but dropped a shot at the second hole. Similar strokes were repeated at the back, but the twin bogeys vaulted the score on 2-under-par and did not let the senior player rise
up.
Meanwhile, Peter Senior gave a relatively better performance. He trapped a pair of birdies on the first-two holes of the back nine and later picked two more on the closing. The Aussie managed one more point on the front and settled at the ninth place.
Steven Bowditch joined the lobby of Andrew Buckle and slipped to a lower spot after painting the scorecard with shades of blue. He double bogeyed at the first, ninth, and the eighteenth hole, but did not suffice with the loss. To make it worse, he lost two
more points on the back and surrendered at 4-over-par.
