Live leader board of the first round of Sybase Match Play Championship

The $1.3 million Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour’s Sybase Match Play Championship has stepped into the second round. The event encompassing a field of 64 players is taking place at the Hamilton Farm Golf Club in
Gladstone, New Jersey.
Couple of eliminations followed as the tournament follows the match-play format in which professionals play against their partners. The player who wins the most holes proceeds to the next round.
In the opening round of the event, Na Yeon Choi defeated Catriona Matthew after winning three holes in the front and two at the back. Meanwhile, world number two Jiyai Shin was defeated by her compatriot Meena Lee. The fellow golfer
was 2-up after 18 holes.
Opposite consequences were faced by the world number three Cristie Kerr.  The American birdied four back-to-back holes on the front and one at the back to defeat her compatriot Amanda Blumenherst by 3 & 2. The mentioned score means
Kerr won by three holes and did not play the last two holes.
When asked to comment on her early accomplishment, Kerr said, “I switched irons two days ago, because I just was not hitting my irons well. Just got a new feel with some new irons and just started hitting it better. I got off to
a quick start - birdied three of the first five holes and then had a great save at the sixth hole.”
Meanwhile, the winner of Kraft Nabisco champion, Stacy Lewis requested for an extra score to get the result out of half. She birdied it, while her fellow opponent Katie Futcher did not play and lost the chance to proceed further.
World number one Yani Tseng defeated Marcy Hart by a score of 3 & 2. She won four holes, while Hart won only one. The ladies decided to call it a day after the 16th hole, while Tseng was in the lead. Paula Creamer, who
is ranked as the 10th most successful player in the world, won through a margin of five holes and left four holes.
Sixteen ladies have stepped into the second round, which will start at 7:15 am, provided it does not rain.
