Live leaderboard of BMW PGA Championship Round 1 - Part 2
European Tour’s BMW PGA Championship is underway at the par-71 Wentworth Golf Club. Here is a quick look at the leader board.
Ross McGowan occupies fourth place on the leader board after completing 18 holes with a score of 3-under par. The Englishman teed off from the front and reeled three birdies after dropping a shot in the start. He caught three more
on his way to the back against two bogeys, to compile an aggregate of 68.
A five-way tie is seen at the seventh spot on the leader board, which included Retief Goosen of South Africa, Johan Edfors from Sweden and Shiv Shankar Prasad Chowrasia from India.
Goosen teed off from the front with an extremely poor start. He missed the par-putt in the opening hole and after countering it off with a birdie, missed one more. He wrapped the front with three birdies and a score af 1-under
par. Similar action was seen at the back, where he signed for a bogey on the opening hole and birdied the following one. The player has completed 14 holes and hence, is four greens away from the clubhouse.
Meanwhile, the Indian ace, Chowrasia also teed off from the front and reeled two birdies against one bogey in the first nine holes. The player is facing trouble on the greens, as the strong wind has made putting extremely difficult.
Edfors is 1-under par after the first four holes and is proceeding towards the fifth tee box for his turn.
Twenty players sit on the 12th spot on the leader board with a score at par. Alvaro Quiros, who is part of that group, teed from the front and reeled two birdies after dropping two shots. He missed one more shot and
wrapped the front nine at 1-over par. However, on his way to the back nine, the Spaniard caught four more birdies against three bogeys and sealed the day at par.
Peter Whiteford could not compile an impressive scorecard either. After leaving five of the opening holes at par, the Scott tried to attack the pin on the sixth hole, but missed as the ball crossed the flag and landed into the
bunker on the right side.
