Live leaderboard of Sunshine Tour’s Big Easy Tour
Sunshine Tour’s Big Easy Tour has kicked off at ERPM Golf Club in Johannesburg, South Africa. The first round of the two-day session wrapped up on Tuesday. Here is a quick look at the leaderboard.
Albert Pistorius smashed a score of 6-under-par in the first round to surge into a temporary lead. Pistorius birdied the opening hole on the back to set the mood of the day. He walked towards the remaining holes and clamped four more
birdies to put himself in a strong lead. The player wrapped the back with a score of 4-under-par, 32. On his way to the front nine, the player reeled two more birdies and sealed the day with a 66.
One stroke shy of him is Attie Schwartzel and Coenie Stoop, who composed a score of 67 each. Stoop chose to tee-off from the front and clamped five birdies to elevate himself to the top of the leaderboard. The player however, missed
a shot and dropped to second.
Meanwhile, Schwartzel gave a brilliant performance in the front and earned most of the birdies there. He birdied every second hole on the front and wrapped it with a score of 32, the high finish put him in contention to challenge
for the top spot on the leaderboard.
He was followed by Dean Burmester and Thabang Simon. Simon produced a blemish free scorecard after carding three birdies, while Burmeste birdied four, aced one and bogeyed two holes.
The sixth spot on the leaderboard was taken by Jake Redman, whose iron-play was a highlight of the day. The South African dropped two shots in the day against four birdies and marvelled the crowd with his accurate strokes on the fairways.
PG van Zyl teed-off from the back and birdied three holes against three bogeys to compile a score at par. Marching towards the front, Zyl picked three more birdies, but could not retain the edge for long, as he dropped two more shots
towards the end and wrapped the day with a 68.
He was joined by Dean O'Riley and Gary Baynham, who both shot a score of 68. Riley spoiled his chance to take the charge of the day by falling twice into bunkers.
