Just wondering. My tanks all have fake plants, and while they're pretty, what do you need to change to transform your tank to a live plant aquarium? Dosn't it change the water properties, etc?

  1. you dont have to do anything you just plant it. when i took out the plant my fish lived long know those fish (koi) are so big we had to make a pond outside.

  2. probably and if you get real plants u have to take care of them and u should should leave that for the fish my advice is stick with the plastic ones

  3. Live plants are the way to go. They give nutrients to your tank and your fish will bow down and thank you with fins flapping together.

Plants do require vitamins and if you select plants for your tank make sure that you can give them the adequate lighting. I usually look up plants on-line before I go and buy them. I make sure my fish like them.

A good idea is to look up your fish, and see what plants they prefer!

Then look up the plant and know how much light they need.

Some plants are hard to keep and some are really easy.

Avoid "MONDO GRASS", it is sold as an aquatic plant but really it is not and will not be healthy for your tank!

    GOOD LUCK!
