Lively Beast wins ‘THE NIGHT CONTINUES AT NAPOLEONS CASINO RACE’ at Sheffield on Jan 13
The son of Droopys Maldini out of Drifting Beauty, Lively Beast, won ‘THE NIGHT CONTINUES AT NAPOLEONS CASINO RACE’ by a clear margin at Sheffield on Friday, January 13, 2012.
It was a 500 metre long Grade A1 heat, with a cash prize of £152. The spotlight of the contest was Ballymac Sally, the favourite b***h with the starting price of 4/5.
However, Lively Beast, shocked the bookies by grabbing the top place, clocking the distance in 29.90 seconds. From the second trap, the L J Stephenson-trained hound was sent off with odds of 9/2.
He was trailed by the 4/1 betting favourite, Varra Bruno - the son of Head Bound out of Varra Lark.
The white and black dog managed to seize the second position by covering the distance in 30.14 seconds.
The favourite hound in the competition, Ballymac Sally, secured the third position, crossing the wire in 30.24 seconds.
Trained by B Draper, the daughter of Green Heat out of Sterling Silver started her act from the first stall.
The fourth place was locked by, Stepaside Glenis, trained by J R Smith. With the 7 to 1 winning probability, the daughter of Si Senor out of Stepaside Jill, commenced the proceedings from the sixth stall. She reached the post in 30.30 seconds, defeating
Killacolla Mal, by a margin of 3/4 of a length.
The son of Droopys Maldini out of Killacolla Lady, managed to get fifth position, covering the area in 30.52 seconds. His odds were 4 to 1, as he started off the race from fifth stall.
The last position went to, Magna Robin – someone with the winning chances of 9 to 2. The black b***h, the daughter of Westmead Hawk out of Stock Yard Janet, began the heat from the fourth stall, and winded up the competition in 30.62 second.
Lively Beast has kicked off the New Year with a bang, taking first position in his opening race in 2012.
After finishing third in the previous heat, it was a nice comeback. And the blue dog will certainly be a hound to watch out for in the next races.
