Livermore signs for Ipswich
Tottenham Hotspur midfield player Jake Livermore has signed for Ipswich Town on loan until January.
Livermore played the first-half for Tottenham in the League Cup defeat to Arsenal earlier this week. He will be available to play in the Championship match against Scunthorpe United this weekend.
"He's a talented boy, he has experience in the Championship. He's a player we've been interested in the last four or five weeks but we've had to be patient. He was on loan at Peterborough and good noises
came back from their staff, we came back with good stuff about his attitude,"
said Ipswich manager Roy Keane.
This is a great move for Livermore that should aid his game in a number of ways. He will be better for the experience when he returns to Tottenham and will have a better chance of featuring in Harry Redknapp's
first team plans.
A good move
This is a good move for the player because it allows him to gain extra experience of a first team environment. He can get first team games under his belt at Ipswich, which will increase his match fitness
and his skill on the ball.
He will benefit from playing under Keane who enjoyed a long and successful playing career. Keane played in a similar position to Livermore and will be able to add an extra edge to the 20-year-old's game.
The Championship is a very competitive and aggressive league. Livermore will get tougher and grow stronger the more he plays for Ipswich and this will enhance his physical presence when he goes back to
Spurs.
"When some of the Premiership teams have a disappointing week in cup competitions they might want one or two of the youngsters to go out. With the games coming up and potential injuries I think we just
need that bit of cover,"
added Keane.
Betting advice
Livermore is a quality player and should settle in quickly at Ipswich. He is worth a bet to score at any time in any game. If he is playing well then Ipswich will win more games over the season until January.
