Liverock - tank switch?

Question

Hey, my friend took apart his salt water aquarium, and he gave me some live rock...the tank hasn't been active for a while, (fish wise) but there was always water in it....hasnt been maintained tho...so pretty much, i have live rock that has been in the same water (it was pretty clear) for about...2 months....is it safe to put it in my aquarium at home?? should i give'r a rinse first?

If you give it a rinse all the live stuf will be dead from chlorine, so do not rinse it, just put it in.
