Liverpool's Martin Skrtel hails teammates Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez
Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has heaped praise on new signings Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez. Skrtel said that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s new strike force is capable of breaking through and terrorizing any defence in the world. The defender
rated Carroll as one of the toughest strikers in the Premier League and said that he is capable of tormenting the opponent’s back four.
The Slovakian said Carroll was one of the most difficult opponents he has faced during his time in England. He added that he feels relieved that he will not face him again after Liverpool signed him in January. He referred to the
League game against Newcastle which the Reds lost 3-1 and Carroll was amongst the goal scorers.
"I remember this game and it was very difficult for us defenders because he is a great player. He's definitely one of the toughest strikers I've played against in the Premier League," the defender said in an interview to the club’s
official website.
Skrtel said that defenders would definitely fear the Carroll - Suarez partnership as they are very strong and talented. The Slovakian added that the duo can combine very well upfront as Carroll is well capable of keeping the ball
and Suarez is very skilful. The defender insisted that the January signings will prove to be great for the Merseyside club in the future.
"I don't know how defenders will feel but they could be scared because Carroll and Suarez is a very strong forward line. Andy can help Luis because he can keep the ball for him. Luis has more skills and working with the ball. This
is good for them working together and could be good for the club," the Slovakian concluded.
Liverpool have had a poor season this term and are currently in sixth place on the Premier League table with 42 points. The Reds are set to miss on the UEFA Champions League qualification again with nine matches to go.
However, the Reds have seen a revival under new manager Kenny Dalglish and the club are on their way up after Roy Hodgson left the club in January. The UEFA Europa League is the only trophy the Reds can win this season and they
will face Sporting Braga in the second-leg of their Last-16 match at Anfield this week.
