Liverpool Echo archives, how do i find a news story from 1990?

i'm looking for a news story about a murder case in Redcar in around 1990...all help greatly appreciated..thanks X

Do you have access to a university library? As in my LJMU library, we can access journal's and archieves that go back years, even for the Liverpool Echo...all you have to do is type in the subject in the search archieve bit x

My best bet is to either go to a Library and ask there or go down to the Liverpool Echo headquarters themselves and ask upfront; I wouldn't be surprised, though, if you got turned away.
