He was appointed as the Liverpool manager in 1974 – a position he held for nine solid years. He steered the English club to three European Cups, one UEFA Cup, six League Titles, three League Cups, one UEFA Super Cup and five Community Shields. Paisley is
regarded by many as the best Liverpool manager of all time – an honour he rightly deserves. He passed away on February 14, 1996 at the age of 77.

force in the Premier League. During his fifteen year career in Anfield, he led the club in winning three league championships, two FA Cups, one UEFA Cup and the 1974 FA Cup Final.
Shankly bought players like Ian St. John, Ron Yeats, Gordon Milne and Peter Thompson, who aided in rebuilding the English squad. Had it not been for Shankly, Liverpool would have never made such an inspiring history. He is truly the best Red’s manager ever.
