Liverpool FC claim Luis Suarez is not for sale – Football news
The English Premier League club has announced that the striker is not for sale after claims in the media that Real Madrid and the player have reached an agreement.
The Merseyside club has claimed that the side will not be selling the Uruguayan international in the summer transfer window after claims that Real Madrid have reached a four-year agreement with the player.
The striker has openly claimed in recent weeks that he wants a change in environment as he has faced a lot of problems from the British press.
Liverpool FC stated that Suarez has a binding contract at the club and the side will not sell the attacker to any team in the world. The club also went on to deny any rumours of an agreement with the Spanish team and are confident that Suarez will continue
at the side next season.
“Luis Suarez is not for sale - neither Luis or his representatives have communicated these feelings directly to Liverpool football club. The club remains supportive of Luis and expect him to honour his contract. We will not be making any further comment
at this stage,” a club spokesperson was quoted as saying in an interview.
Suarez had earlier claimed that he is willing to leave the club in the summer and wants a new challenge in another league. The player added that if he stays, he will give his all to the club and will serve the side with all his determination.
“I don’t have any offers yet. I don’t know when I will leave or even if I will finally leave or I will stay. The club knows what I think and what I want. If I stay, I will do my best here. But I don’t think that will happen because of all the bullying from
the press against me,” the former Ajax Amsterdam man said.
