Liverpool Legend Fowler Confident About Liverpool Revival
Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler said he expected the Reds to bring in over three to four new players in the January transfer window if they wish to compete for a place in the top four in the English Premier League.
John W. Henry, the new Liverpool owner, said on Tuesday that the club’s recent result against Newcastle United was unacceptable and told the fans to be patient with manager Roy Hodgson, who has so far failed to bring the club out
of its slump.
Liverpool have had just one win out of their last nine away games, which sees the club in ninth place in the Premier League table. Fans have already started suggesting the remedy for revival, the removal of Roy Hodgson.
Robbie Fowler said while speaking to reporters,
“I think they [the new owners] will stick with Roy. It is a bit of a transitional period; Roy is new in the job, and Liverpool are renowned throughout their history for sticking by their managers, and I think they will do so again.”
He was confident his former side would improve with the arrival of new players, he said,
“Liverpool are better than they were at the start of the season, which gives us a bit of hope. I think in January you are looking at maybe three or four good players to come in, and then we will see where it takes us.”
The 3-1 loss to Newcastle at St James’ Park was a big disappointment, but the Reds will hope to improve in their next fixture against Fulham. Hodgson has already promised that he plans to bring in at least five to six players in January, which will improve
the squad and help with their revival.
