Rangers.
Fabio Aurelio got injured and is struggling with an Achilles issue and this leaves the left back spot open for replacement. Darby has played the left position this season though the player definitely seems more comfortable and adept on the right position.
All the while the young Jack Robinson and Chris Mavinga are hoping to enter Roy Hodgson’s mind for a spot in the team.
Jay Spearing made an impressive performance last week in a match against Steaua Bucharest and is hoped to play the centre position again.
Rumours are that Jonjo Shelvey may join him on the field as he got signed from Charlton Athletic last season and is slowly making his way through the ranks.
Lucas Leiva was the player that was left out in the listings in the match against the ‘Red Devils’ and is predicted to be playing in the next match to give some experience to the game.
While Steve Irwin may also get a call back for Liverpool’s first team duty, Joe Cole is also thought to be present in the match to play his third successive match as the player is trying to get some match fitness under his wing.
Dani Pacheco is also hoping to start again with a major role in the game as before he has only made numerous small part substitute appearances.
David Amoom, Derado Bruna and Paul Ince are all sitting in line to get a spot in the squad and Amoom’s chance seem at best to make that list as he played for the first team in Liverpool’s match against FC Rabotnicki.
Ryan Babel and David Ngog are competing for a starting spot in the front and there is even a possibility for them to be paired up together in a 4-4-2.
Nathan Eccleston is hoping to make the list as a substitute and make a bench appearance as the last time he came on was only in the last few minutes in a four to one win against Steaua.
Roy Hodgson is likely to add in a few more experienced players in the match, all the while still giving the young and new players a chance to play.
Hodgson hopes to work up a concoction that will provide confidence and stability to the team. It is expected that Liverpool will win this match with a steep number on the score boards.
Northampton is well aware of this fact and will try their best to defend themselves and has been making changes of its own to go against Liverpool with the best that they have.
Brad Jones got signed with Liverpool this season and it is expected that he will make his ‘Reds’ debut in this match.
The young defenders Stephen Darby and Martin Kelly are both hoping to become a part of this match as Martin Kelly has already proved his worth from his game play in the five Europa League games that he has played thus far.
