http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 are both on the Reds’ injury list as Kenny Dalglish shares the extent of both of their injuries.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 Football Club is on a high after lifting their first trophy in six years on their return to the spiritual home of football, Wembley, where they met Cardiff City in the Carling Cup final.
However, the night ended prematurely for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Agger-c9884 who had to be substituted in the second half after fracturing a rib against the Championship side.
Reds’ manager, Kenny Dalglish, confirmed that the Dane would be out for a few weeks.
“He’s (Daniel Agger) got a fractured rib, so may it will be a few weeks.”
Dalglish continued, “Anybody that is injured is a miss. Daniel has been playing fantastically well this year, but we’ll miss anybody that is not fit and available.”
As for Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, well it turned out that the medical staff at Anfield has not been able to assess the extent of the inspirational skipper’s injury as he has not returned from international duty as yet.
Dalglish said, “The players will be arriving shortly, so we’ll get an assessment when we speak to the medical people and look at it from there.”
He continued, “If I don’t know what it is, I can’t tell you whether there is every chance or not chance (of Gerrard facing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429), so rather than speculate it’s best for us to just wait and see what the medical people have to say once they’ve seen him.”
Despite the injury of Agger and uncertainty surrounding Gerrard, the Liverpool manager is confident that the squad is strong enough to cope with the absence of either or both players should that be the case.
However, the Merseyside club will face a tough task as they look to take on an Arsenal side that seems to have found their stride as they managed to knock five goals past their bitter rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, last weekend.
If Gerrard does miss out then Dalglish has the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jay-Spearing-c18106 to take his place, though the Merseyside club’s supporters will be hoping that their talismanic captain will be fit for the clash.
