http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 Football Club and owners FSG have formally announced Brendan Rodgers as the Reds new manager.
The declaration came after earlier reports had suggested that the 39-year old Irishman had accepted a three-year offer from Liverpool. It also brought to an end the fans’ wait to see the new gaffer at Anfield, after Kop legend Kenny Dalglish was sacked by
the owners almost two weeks ago.
With the club planning on making cardinal changes at Liverpool in view of their poor showing in the previous season, Rodgers appointment has come as a massive stride forward in the Irishman’s managerial career coupled with the challenge of meeting the mammoth
targets and expectations in the coming term.
After spending a successful two-year stint at the Liberty Stadium, Rodgers got what he truly deserved-an opportunity to work with one of the biggest and most prestigious clubs in Europe.
After being formally announced as Liverpool manager, Rodgers mentioned that he was honoured to be given a chance to work at Anfield, and vowed to do his best to change the current gloomy situation at the Merseyside club.
While talking to reporters, he said: “I'm really excited and I can't wait to get started on this incredible project going forward.  I promise to dedicate my life to fight for this club and defend the great principles of Liverpool Football Club on and off
the field.”
Liverpool’s principal owner John Henry also expressed his satisfaction over Rodgers’ selection, and admitted that the club did not expect him to deliver results overnight. He pointed out that the Irishman was the new face of the modern day management, and
the style he adopted at Swansea City will best suit Liverpool.
He said, “Brendan's comprehensive football philosophy is perfectly aligned with those at the club and those soon to join the club.”
“We do not expect miracles overnight nor should anyone else.  But we firmly believe that the direction the club is heading in will lead to Premier League championships.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tom-c35214 Werner, the club’s chairman, believed that Rodgers arrival at Anfield will mark the beginning of new chapter in Liverpool’s book and asked the fans to brace themselves for exciting times ahead.
