Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish reveals Andy Carroll could return soon, Steve Bruce disappointed with Gordon’s injury

Kenny Dalglish hopeful about Andy Carroll
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish defended his £35 million January transfer window signing Andy Carroll. The Reds boss has asked fans to be patient and supportive of the former Newcastle striker who has been injured ever since his arrival at Anfield.
Carroll is currently recovering from a knee problem and has been sidelined since late December. However, he could be close to his return according to Dalglish. The Liverpool boss revealed the striker had been training with the rest of the squad and could
be in the team to face Manchester United when they visit Anfield.
Dalglish said while speaking to the media, “His training is always progressing but he has not yet progressed to a game yet. We have said all along we have been delighted with his progress and what he has done. There have not been anything which he has done
which has not been encouraging.”
Liverpool can do Arsenal a favor and defeat Manchester United, increasing the Gunners chances of catching up with the league leaders and eventually overtaking them. The Reds themselves however, are too far down to benefit from beating Sir Alex Ferguson’s
side. The most http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 can hope for this stage is a finish in the top 7, so they can earn a spot in next season’s Europa League.
Steve Bruce’s injury woes
Sunderland goal-keeper Craig Gordon will be visiting a specialist next week to determine the extent of his knee injury. The Scotland International has been struggling with a knee problem since last month and is now going to Sweden to see a specialist.
Gordon arrived at the Stadium of Light for a fee of £9 million but had not been able to be consistent because of the knee injury. Sunderland boss Steve Bruce already has a long list of injuries and will not want to lose his first choice goal keeper.
Bruce said while speaking to reporters, “http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015
on Monday and we will see how he is.”
Steve Bruce is already without http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fraizer-Campbell-c13904, but the Black Cats’ boss is hopeful the two will be returning back soon. Welbeck and Campbell are reportedly back in training and could feature in the side over the weekend.
