Liverpool manager, Kenny Dalglish, has expressed his disappointment on the defeat to Aston Villa on the final day of the English Premier League season. He stated that the players have been fantastic off late and it would have been
great to sign off with a win.
The Reds had a chance to qualify for UEFA Europa League on the final day if they won at Villa Park and Tottenham dropped points against Birmingham but the Merseysiders finished the season in sixth place with 58 points, four points
behind Spurs.

“It's disappointing. I am disappointed for the players, certainly not with them. They have done fantastic to do as well and get as far as they have done, and it would have been nice to have finished on a positive. I think we just
ran out of legs a little bit and ran out of players as well,” the Scot was quoted as saying in an interview to Liverpoolfc.tv.
The former Reds’ striker claimed that the team put in the best effort and rued missed chances. He added that players should now concentrate on the next season and also hoped to make a strong comeback next term. He stated that the
disappointments this season are now behind us and it will be a new start in August this year to the next season.
“The most important thing for us is we did the best we possibly could. It's not their (the players') fault their legs ran out a wee bit and they came up a wee bit short - but the disappointment is for them, not with them,” he concluded.
