http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Captain-c8314 Steven Gerrard looking to make a return against West Brom - English Premier League
Liverpool Captain and England International, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 is reported to be on the verge of making his comeback for Liverpool. The player underwent a groin surgery earlier this month and was scheduled to be out of action for at least a four weeks.
The injury also caused the player to miss out on England’s Euro 2012 qualifying game, which the team won by beating Wales two goals to nil.
However, the player is now looking to make his return to full training this week and then hopefully making it back to the first-team for Liverpool’s trip to West Brom next Saturday.
When talking about his injury and his return to form, the player is reported to have said, "It's good. I'm probably three or four days away from full training, so hopefully I'll be involved against West Brom. It depends on how the next three or four days go."
However, Gerrard was upset after being injured and claimed that missing games was something that he hated.
The player then went on to add, "Being injured is the worst part of being a footballer. It's frustrating not to be involved in a game like England vs http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Switzerland-c3016. It's frustrating missing games being on the treatment table so you do everything you can in your rehab and away from football to get back as quickly as possible."
However, so far this season Gerrard has been mostly anonymous for Liverpool and the fact that he is looking to return to action, has not really had the same reaction that it would have had a season or two ago.
The player, despite being captain of the team, is slowly falling and losing his place as the teams driving force. This is because Kenny Dalglish has managed to take those responsibilities and place them on the shoulders of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raul-Meireles-c30678. The Portuguese International, despite being in his first season with the team, has gone on to prove that he is one of the best in the business, but more importantly he has shown that Liverpool can operate perfectly fine in the absence of their captain fantastic.
Nonetheless, the returning Gerrard is sure to open up a number of options for the team and would help aid in the team's cause to push for a top four finish at the end of the season.
