friendly matches against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015.
Gerrard’s current season has been plagued with a number of injuries. The English midfielder was unavailable for Liverpool in the first two months of the ongoing 2011/12 Barclays Premier League season, as he was completing his rehabilitation process following
a knee surgery which he underwent in March 2011.
The 31-year-old midfielder made his long awaited return from knee surgery few weeks ago and went to establish himself in Dalglish’s starting eleven.
Recently, Gerrard was dropped from Liverpool’s squad in the latest outing against West Bromwich Albion. Dalglish confirmed that the English midfielder was supposed to start against the Baggies at the Hawthorns but the skipper was ruled out just before the
start of the match due to an ankle infection.
The 31-year-old has not featured since the home draw against Manchester United two weeks ago, and now Liverpool have confirmed that the England international will miss the upcoming Premier League match against Swansea City at Anfield.
In addition to that, it has also been confirmed that Gerrard will also miss England’s international friendly matches against World Champions, Spain, and Sweden.
This latest setback will hugely effect the midfielder’s chances of making into http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello’s starting eleven for the upcoming EURO 2012, as the Liverpool skipper has not featured for the Three Lions since November 2010.
Moreover, no date for Gerrard’s has been set as a statement on the Reds official website read:
“Steven Gerrard has now undergone treatment to clear out all infection from his right ankle, which has been placed in a protective plaster cast.
“The player will not be available for this weekend's game against Swansea City or for the upcoming England friendlies against Spain and Sweden.
"Steven will now continue his rehabilitation programme under the guidance of the club's medical staff."
Steven Gerrard is expected to be back in action by the end of this month.
