Liverpool linked with Cissokho
Liverpool are considering making a move for Aly Cissokho, the 23-year-old Lyon left-back, after English Premier League Manchester City dropped interest in the player and signed Gael Clichy instead. With the Reds having lost out on the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 defender, they
are now looking at other options.
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is reportedly considering Cissokho, the France international worth an estimated £10 million. Talks are expected to begin soon between Liverpool and the Ligue 1 outfit over the talented left-back.
The player himself has hinted on a move to the English Premier League, claiming he was happy with Lyon but would consider a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. Cissokho said in an interview:
“Lyon is a city and a club that I http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Love-c22466.
I'm happy in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 but if I ever had to change clubs I would go to the Premier League because they practice a style of football similar to how I play on the field.”
Cissokho joined Lyon in 2009 from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 for a fee of €15 million, after almost moving to Serie A giants AC Milan for the same fee. Since joining Lyon, Cissokho has made 75 appearances in all competitions and has scored twice.
Aquilani uncertain about future
Having been unable to secure a permanent move to Serie A side Juventus, Alberto Aquilani returns to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809. The 27-year-old midfielder had left for Juventus on a loan move with the possibility of making the move permanent after failing to impress at Liverpool.
In 34 appearances in all competitions, Aquilani only managed 2 goals because of which he was not asked to stay on a permanent basis. Since then he has been linked with AC Milan and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003, even though he claimed he was happy to be back at Anfield.
The player’s agent revealed his client was not sure about his future, he said in an interview:
“Alberto's thoughts were to stay in Italy, but this was not possible. He had a positive season (at Juventus).
I don't know if in this market there will be the possibility for him to return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 and it's a shame that our players are forced to go and play away from Italy.”
According to his agent, Aquilani wants to remain in Italy but would be happy to stay and help the Reds win the English Premier League crown in the upcoming season. He continued:
“Liverpool are an important club and they have overcome the problems they had a year ago with the previous owners so they can win the Premier League.”
