Liverpool defender Emiliano Insua set for Galatasaray loan move
Liverpool’s Argentinian left back Emiliano Insua is close to a season-long loan move to Turkish giants Galatasaray, after revealing details of the move on his own personal Twitter page.
The 21-year-old has been frozen out at Anfield since the arrival of new boss Roy Hodgson, and will slide even further down the pecking order if the club complete the widely expected signing of Fulham full back Paul Konchesky today.
Insua was a mainstay in Rafael Benitez’s team last season, but was one of the most criticised performers in the Spaniard’s under-achieving side.
The player's Twitter page read: “Road to Istanbul, in search of continuity, I hope to leave everything!
“I am waiting for news about my future. Eager to play and keep dreaming big!”
Hodgson is also set to offload youngsters Damien Plessis and Nabil El Zhar to Greece today, with French midfielder Plessis set for a move to Panathinaikos and Moroccan winger El Zhar interesting PAOK Salonika.
The Reds boss still hopes to add a striker to his squad by this evening’s closure of the transfer window, although he does not expect either Ryan Babel or Lucas Leiva to leave the club.
