The English Premier League strugglers have now entered the race for the signature of the Montpellier Herault hitman who wants to play in the UEFA Champions League next season
After http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899. The Montpellier striker has scored 20 Ligue 1 goals this campaign and has now become one of the most lethal strikers in Europe.
La Paillade will certainly have a lot of trouble in holding on to the 25-year-old. The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 (Gilles Grimandi paid Montpellier a visit), Christian Nerlinger (Bayern Munich) have already first-hand seen the player’s performances and are impressed
by him.
Now, it seems that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 FC are also keen on the striker. British newspaper, Daily Mail, claims that the striker has appeased Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish who watched the player miss a penalty in his side’s 1-0 win over Toulouse this Saturday.
The residents of Anfield have now decided to turn their attentions towards the striker. Giroud is keen on playing in the English Premier League where Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has already been monitoring him.
However, Dalglish is now looking to fight for the player’s signature. This season, Andy Carroll has yet again failed to impose himself alongside Luis Suarez who has been left to do the scoring.
The Scottish manager is now keen on having an able striker alongside the Uruguayan international as he looks to make his side a strong attacking force in the next campaign.
However, the Reds will surely have a hard time in signing a player who has indicated that he wants to play in the Champions League next season.
Though Giroud is not decided on his future yet, the France international wants to play in the UCL.
Furthermore, with Montpellier currently on top of the Ligue 1 standings, Giroud might even consider staying at the Mosson for one more season in order to get some European experience before actually making a big-money move.
On his part, Montpellier president, Louis Nicollin would be desperate to hold on to his player who has played a big role in the club’s push for their first Ligue 1 Championelle.
