English Premier League sides Liverpool and Newcastle United are set to battle for 21-year-old French international Moussa Sissoko in the summer transfer window, the player’s agent confirmed.
Liverpool have been eyeing the young midfielder since 2006, but were not able to lure him away from Toulouse, with whom he signed a three year deal in the 2006-2007 season.
His current contract runs until the end of the 2012 season and with the player valued at an estimated £13 million, he is an affordable player for both Premier League sides.
Since making his senior debut for Toulouse in the 2007-2008 season, Sissoko has made a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Total-c40747 of 144 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, with 20 goals and 7 assists.
The young midfielder has been linked with a move to Ligue 1 side Lyon, but his agent confirmed the English Premier League sides were also serious competitors for the players signature.
Sissoko’s agent said while speaking to reporters:
“The link with Lyon is serious, but it is not the only one.
There are also negotiations with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sporting-89-c40576 project.”

Liverpool first choice goal keeper Pepe Reina revealed he was determined to continue on at Anfield, despite rumours that he was considering a move away.
He was initially linked with English Premier League rivals Manchester United, but after Atletico Madrid youngster http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-de-Gea-c10463 signed with the Red Devils, Reina has been linked with a move to the La Liga outfit.
While Reina admitted he was aware of Atletico Madrid’s interest, he insisted he had no intention of leaving Liverpool.
In 2008 Reina had signed a contract extension, which looks to keep the Spaniard at the club until the end of 2016 season.
Reina said in an interview:
“I know Atletico are looking for a goalkeeper, but I won't be changing colours.
I have a five-year contract and I'm happy at Liverpool.”
Reina revealed he wished the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 under-21 international the best of luck at Old Trafford and said he was certain de Gea would fit in well in the Premier League.
The Reds stopper continued:
“I very much welcome this news because http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 is a great keeper.
When it becomes official he is going to start working to prove in the Premier League what a good goalkeeper he is.”
At only 20-years-old de Gea is considered one of the best young goal keepers in Europe, United reportedly paid an estimated amount of £17 million for the Spaniard.
