Were you impressed by Nabil el Zhar's performance when he came on against Standard the other night? It was like a breath of fresh air for me and I reckon if he had started the match instead of Kuyt we would have got the job done in 90 minutes.

Thanks for all sensible opinions :)

  1. he is the ultimate

  2. I defnitely was, so young yet a proper winger who can do it all such as whipping in some crosses and pacing out the fullbacks, Kuyt saved us but El Zhar was absolute class!

  3. Definitely, he's exactly what we need.

Still young though, I reckon he can get better.

    Welcome back btw (:

  4. To be honest i didnt see him do much... Maybe its just me? lawl.  I agree with you Kuyt's performance was a disappointing. I sure would have liked to see Nabil get a goal though! :D

  5. yeh..he could give robbie savage a run for his money

  6. Not a fan,but it was like watching paint dry, while on Valium!

  7. im a bluebird by then way he looks a decent player and still young so future looking bright

    DO THE AYATOLLAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  8. He should have been on from the start instead of the invisible man / £20million man

  9. Yes but on the whole the team's performance was a little worrying. getting that last gasp winner against Middlesboro was frankly embarrassing.

  10. Good player suitable for rotation policy against weaker sides.

  11. At least he put a bit of an effort in unlike the rest of the team that just swanned about thinking they where it!

If it wasn't for Reina the scoreline would have been a embarrassing defeat by at least 4 goals over the 2 games!

  12. el problemo ,do you actually believe that ,whose to say that the opposite effect might have taken place and the POOL never scored' Kuyt has gave you a lifeline,so be grateful

the young kid has got belief in himself, but i would start with Kuyt as he works 75 mins of a match and the young un is not blooded for that yet

    a nice little rant

or will i get a badge for looking at cars in the car park as well

  13. Yes i was impressed he looks a good catch, hopefully he will inspire some of the other players around him who look way off the mark at the moment

  14. yeah he looked good when come on looks a nippy tidy little player he showed we neeed a natural winger

  15. As good as Ronaldo and Torres!! - or maybe that was just the diving part of his game!lol

  16. on a physical level liverpool are weak they wont mach man utd or chelsea this season ;)

  17. Nabil's a young lad with a lot of pace and skill, and his performance in the extra time win over Standard Leige, coupled more importantly with his performance last weekend against Middlesbrough, has made him a firm threat to the likes of Dirk Kuyt and Yossi Benayoun for the wide positions in Rafa's new 4-4-2 formation.

Although he does seem to be a breath of fresh air with his youthful attitude, I don't think that Rafa will overdo it, simply let him bide his time and use him bit by bit, and he will become a strong member of the squad throughout this season.

    Good post.

  18. i will be impressed if and when you beat aston villa tomorrow

    good luck : )

  19. I was not impressed by anything

  20. hey TP welcome back bud:)..yeah el zhar did a job alright!its good to see the young lads actually have something to offer the first team and hopefully it will make the rest of the squad get their act together BEFORE we get ourselves into a bad run!kuyt done nothing on the wing all night and even when he moved up front he didn't show much!i dont think however that el zhar would have been the answer to unlocking standard.they were all over us in every area of the pitch and never gave our lads a chance to settle on the ball.they played very well i thought and at times made us look poor.when i looked at the line up before the game i was expecting at least 2 goals from us but after 20 mins i was just hoping that standard wouldn't score!hopefully mach will breathe new life into our midfield so we can start enjoying the season the way we all thought we would! :)

  21. yes. I was surprised at his age. I thought he was 18. He isn't really as young as he seems but he still has time to improve with games. Why hasn't Rafa played him more in the first place? Lets facee it, Kuyt is not a winger, look how he scored his goal.

  22. hes a quick lil one lol me too, glad kuyt scored but he is S**t ! lol he tries his heart out but has no real ability n considerin we bought him as a striker why is he on the wing??? hes not even quick ebuff for the wing id play nabil el zhar or pennant, wishin we wuda bought wright-phillips imagine him on one wing babel on th eother!!!
