Liverpool first-team coach, Steve Clarke, believes that the Reds squad does not need a major overhaul in the summer transfer window.
Clarke has been a key figure in Liverpool’s turnaround since January 2011 along with manager Kenny Dalglish. The Reds have promoted several of their youngsters recently and a lot of them have shown promise to suggest that the club does not need to invest
their millions in the transfer market.
Reserve team players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martin-Kelly-c24395 have shown great promise whenever they have been given a chance in the senior team. The star players were not missed in the recent periods and the youngsters
have played a great deal in steadying the ship at Anfield.
Clarke added that the club just needs two or three quality signings to gel into the squad with the seniors and the youngsters. Manager Dalglish has also clearly mentioned that his primary focus for the next season will be to develop the young stars at the
club.
Talking to the reporters, Clarke said, "We have a decent squad here, a lot of good players who have shown that for us. If we can find two or three players that can add to the squad then that is what we should do.”
"If we can't find the right players to improve us at the right time then I think we have enough to keep us moving forward. We've also got the young players coming through -- that has been a big plus this season. If we can continue with the nucleus of the
established players we have and keep adding one or two kids..."
The coach hailed Dalglish’s impact since joining the Reds for his second managerial stint and believes that the great Scot can take the club back to its winning ways. Clarke wants to bring the Reds back into UEFA Champions League football and end the trophy
drought. The 47-year-old added that the club needs to carry on with the recent success and take this good form into the next season.
