Liverpool get Gerrard boost ahead of Blackpool clash
Liverpool fans got an early Christmas present this year, with the news that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Captain-c8314 Steven Gerrard is finally back in the squad.
Gerrard has been out since 17 November, after he tore a hamstring during England’s friendly against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899. The 30-year-old has now been deemed fit to play against Blackpool on Boxing Day. Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson will be relieved to have his talisman
back in action. Hodgson will be hoping that Gerrard’s return can give Liverpool the boost they need, as they aim for a top-four finish in the Barclays Premier League.
Roy Hodgson said, “It is a big boost to have Gerrard back going into five games in 15 days. It is a season-changing period for every team in the Premier League. He (Gerrard) would have been fit to play against Fulham as well. It doesn't hurt to have an extra
week to get some training in, but what he needs now is matches.”

Agger have recently rejoined the team after being sidelined for months, and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 has not yet returned to form due to niggling injuries throughout the current campaign.

Blackpool have already defeated Liverpool 1-2 at Anfield this season. Hodgson knows the upcoming fixture at Bloomfield road will be anything but easy, but Steven Gerrard’s return to the side might just give the Reds the edge in what promises to be an exciting
encounter.
