Liverpool hopes for Quick Sale, Cole admires Torres
Martin Broughton has insisted that the board will have monopoly control of any deal for the sale of Liverpool and that could be concluded by the close of transferrable windows that remains by the end of this month.
Kenny Huang a Chinese businessman has expressed interest in taking control of Liverpool. He has also offered to buy Liverpool’s two-hundred and thirty-seven million debt, from the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Broughton was taken into the club just for the purpose of facilitating the sale of the club and this was done in April. There have already been several bids on the club and again the board says that the final decision rests with them.
He told the Guardian that any bids that are made for the club go straight to the Royal Bank of Scotland and that goes straight to him and the Liverpool Board. He assured everyone that the Board is still in control and not RBS. Also, he continued by saying that he hoped that a deal could be finalized and made latest by the end of August.
Broughton added to the matter by saying that the objective is still to conclude the deal before the transfer window finishes .He continued that this was the main objective and there are no deadlines and he is working with the Board to complete the process as soon as possible.
He continued on the matter by saying that both Tom Hicks and George Gillet are on the Board. They have commitments to the Board of Kop Holdings, which is Liverpool’s United Kingdom’s parent Company, and this is the sole party responsible for the sale of the club.
He told the media that a Hong Kong based company QSL Sports limited, where Mr. Huang is the head,  is believed to be very enthusiastic in securing an agreement as soon as possible. In order to give the manager, Roy Hogdson ample time to bring in reinforcements for the squad before time of the transfer window runs out.
It is believed that Huang has already started speaking to senior figures at Anfield and has expressed his seriousness about purchasing the club. He hopes that this message will filter out to the stars of the team like Torres, who actually returned to training after his World Cup break, and help persuade him that the club still has a bright future.
Though Torres has still not publicly publically disclosed any commitment to Liverpool, like the way captain Steven Gerrard did as soon as he returned from his international duty. There has been a lot of speculation linking the Spanish striker with clubs like Manchester City and Chelsea.
Torres is disappointed with the apparent lack of investment in the squad by his standards. But as there is a chance of change in ownership, he thinks that he will find his requests for a couple of players granted a lot sooner than in normal circumstances.
Joe Cole is a new addition to the squad as from his recent release from Chelsea.  Although, it’s a free signing, he is eager to play with World Cup Champion players.
Cole commented on the matter by saying that one of most important reasons he came to Liverpool was because he wanted to play alongside great players. He continued on the topic by saying that he will work hard every day to give Fernando as many chances as he possibly can.
Cole went further by saying that he had been watching the way Fernando plays very closely. He said that Fernando is the best the striker in the world without even a slight doubt.
He said that his job is just to make chances for the men in front and he can barely wait to play alongside them.
