Liverpool improve bid for Sunderland’s Jordan Henderson – Premier League Update
It is being reported that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Henderson-c19102, as the team is now looking to offer as much as eighteen and a half million pounds to land the talented midfielder.
The Reds had initially placed a bid of around thirteen million for the player, however, in order to wrap things up as soon as they can, they have gone on to significantly improve their initial offer for the player. At the same time, Roy Hodgson is hoping that this significant raise will see the deal go through and get completed, before the start of the weekend.
At the moment, it seems like Henderson is waiting to get his call, to go in and give his medical at Anfield. However, Sunderland will still be hoping that Liverpool might increase their bid for Henderson, just a little more.
The drastic increase in Liverpool’s offered price for Henderson has left Sunderland officials in shock. The team was initially hoping to milk as much as sixteen million pounds for the player, however, considering the drastic change in the offer made by Liverpool, they are now more than confident that they could perhaps get even more out of the club.
According to most experts, this price being offered by Liverpool, if anything is rather ridiculous. Henderson, who is still an under 21 player, despite being more than half decent, is by no means worth eighteen million pounds.
Nonetheless, this just goes to show that Liverpool have a tendency of landing players, for well over their market value. This past January, the team went on to land Andy Carroll for a whopping price of thirty five million pounds.
However, considering the team has already made the bid for the player, there isn’t much they can do now.
If Liverpool do manage to land Henderson – which they most probably will, then they would potentially go on to solve all their midfield problems. The team’s midfielder dynamo, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raul-Meireles-c30678 has gone on to prove, that he can easily fill in for Gerrard, as he has done, all season long.
Now, with Henderson in the mix, it is more than likely that the number of games Gerrard will play for the Reds, are going to deteriorate in number, until eventually the player calls it quits. However, at the same time, Henderson will be there to fill in for the player.
