The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 FC manager is not impressed by opinions that the Merseyside club are in seventh place in the league only because of Luis Suarez
Luis Suarez has been in prime form this season and scored a staggering 28 times in all competitions this season. The player is currently leading the English Premier League scoring charts and is ahead of the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380
and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422.
The former Ajax Amsterdam man is a red hot contender for the FA Player of the Year award at the end of the season and will fight it out with Persie and Bale for the prize.
Brendan Rodgers hailed the Uruguayan international’s performances and admitted that the player has been integral in the club’s wins this season. The manager praised the striker and is expecting a few more goals from the attacker
in the remaining course of the season.
“His consistency this season has been phenomenal, really. He's a master marksman that this year has been really, really efficient and been outstanding,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
However, the former Swansea manager refused to admit that Liverpool is a one-man team. He stated that it would be disrespectful of the other players who are performing extremely well this season.
“Listen, we're not a one-man team, I think it's very disrespectful to our other players in the team who have been outstanding, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 or the likes - he's got the most assists in the Premier League this year,” he continued.
The tactician is optimistic ahead of the clash against Tottenham Hotspur and is expecting all three points at Anfield this weekend.
“We're very much about the team and Luis is a big part of that. Hopefully he can continue with the brilliant form he's been in,” he concluded.
The Reds can brighten the prospects of a top-four finish if they beat the London side at home this weekend. However, even if the club beat Spurs it will not be an easy task to finish in the top-four as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 are also
fighting it out for the feat.
