The 26-year old, who is also the skipper of the Polish national team, joined the Bundesliga outfit in February 2007 from Wisla Krakow after signing a four year deal.
He netted 6 goals in 29 matches for the Borussians in their title winning 2011/12 league campaign last season.
Blaszczykowski also represented his country in the recently concluded European Championships at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032.
Having put up an impressive show in the German league in the previous season, the midfielder has reportedly caught the attention of potential suitors from across Europe, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 being the most notable teams to have expressed their interest in
him.
However, the player’s agent Jerzy Brzeczek, who is also his uncle, unearthed that the Reds have also enquired about him recently, but insisted that he is currently happy at Westfalenstadion. He also said that the decision over his proposed move will be taken
by his current employers.
The agent is quoted to have said, “Jakub has a contract with Borussia and is happy at the club, so he will not make any rash decisions. All important discussions regarding his future we conduct with Borussia.”
During his stay at Dortmund, which now spans over a period of almost five years, Blaszczykowski capped 167 appearances for the German champions and scored 15 goals.
His current contract with the Borussians is set to expire by the end of the next term.
Despite drawing interest from multiple outfits, the Polish footballer mentioned that he is yet to make a decision on his possible future destination, and dismissed the rumours that he has already extended his contract at Dortmund.
He then went on to say that at the moment he was focused on doing well for his team this coming season, and will be happy to serve out his remaining one year at Bundesliga.
“It's not true that I have already signed a contract. My current deal with Dortmund still runs [for another season] and I'm focusing on BVB. There's no reason to talk about a contract at this point.”
