Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina hints at Anfield exit once again, Manchester United and Arsenal alert
Liverpool’s first-choice shot stopper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-Reina-c29672 has gone on to drop another hint leading to the fact that he might be on his way out of the club at the end of the season. That is only unless the team don’t manage to pick themselves up again and get back
to their competitive best.
Reina joined the Reds in 2005 from Spanish club Villareal and has since ensured his spot in the starting eleven at the team, only due to his brilliance between the sticks. However, the player is used to playing at the highest level and feels like that might
not be the case if he sticks around with the Reds for much longer.
At the moment, Liverpool are sitting in the sixth spot in the League table, with a 21-point deficit between them and Manchester United - who are the league leaders. It doesn’t seem like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 are going to qualify for a Champions League spot at the end
of the season and their crashing out from the Europa League means that there might not be any European future for the team over the next season.
Reina seems to be well aware of that fact, along with the fact that he is 28 years old and doesn’t have the gift of youth on his side any longer.
When talking about his future at the club and the state that Liverpool are in at the moment, the player is reported to have said, "We have to strengthen. If we want to improve then we have to do that. It is our duty to be strong, to get better."
The player went on to add, "The only thing I can do is train and do my best. Who knows if I have got years left? It's not about being patient. It's about the club winning and I want to be competitive. We used to fight to be among the top team and be in the
Champions League. Sadly that's not the case now. I want to win titles."
Reina seems to be h**l-bent on winning titles and the way it stands, he might not be able to achieve that feat with Liverpool in the near future. The player has been linked with moves to the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United over the course of the last
few months and it seems like he might just go ahead and jump ship at the end of the season.
At the moment the player’s buy-out clause stands in at 20-million pounds and that is a fee that is easily in the buying power of both United and Arsenal. However, according to most experts it seems like United might just edge past Arsenal in their pursuit
to land the Spanish shot-stopper.
